Mezcla has been instrumental in my filmmaking journey. While I have a background in documentary filmmaking, I've always been drawn to narrative storytelling as well. Through their programs, Mezcla not only helped me see myself as a screenwriter, but also selected my script for a workshop, which was incredibly empowering. Additionally, thanks to Mezcla's database, a production company found me and offered me the biggest budget I've ever had to write and direct a short film. It's been an amazing experience.

I'm so incredibly appreciative of all of the resources Mezcla Media Collective provides for BIPOC women and nonbinary filmmakers. Being newer to the city, Mezcla was one of the first spaces I found to be super helpful in aiding my growth as an emerging filmmaker. Having been both a part of Mezcla's screenwriters' retreat, as well as many of their professional workshops, I developed a myriad of skill sets that have helped with both my current projects and business. Not having gone through a traditional film school education, I can't stress enough how important this resource has been for me and how vital Mezcla is to the filmmaking community!
